| next semester. Of course, I have to finish off this one first (finals week coming up = OH DEAR!!!).
I'm so excited about being at Oxford, and so nervous too. It's like being a prefrosh again -- staring at the beautiful pictures of campus, reading snippets of college life online, imagining myself there and talking to friends or going to classes -- and yet not having any idea of what it's really like. The doubts also rush in sometimes - will I make friends? good friends? can I handle the academics? can I take care of myself so far away from home?
Okay, go ahead and scoff. Sure, Yale was fine, eventually. I have friends, a lovely suite and roommate, an amazing Body of brothers and sisters, I know how classes work and how to study and write papers ... but isn't it odd that I can't help but experience the same nervousness when thinking about going to Oxford?
:)
I'll also probably start a new blog to document my time there (with pictures!) for anyone who might want to keep up with me. To come later...
and now to papers about Rumpelstiltskin and Indian crocodiles!

| has been bothering me for some time. Every time I go into the bathroom and pick up a tube of our Crest (with Scope and whitening!), I wonder how they manage to fill the tube so that it comes out nicely striped - 'til you get to the end of the tube, that is.
Then I had the brilliant idea to write to one of the toothpaste companies and ask directly. After all, once I wrote to the city of Seattle with a question and they responded quite nicely. But I searched on Google first, and it turns out that lots of people have been obsessed with this very question, and there's even more than one answer!
You can either place the colored pastes into different compartments within the tube, or pre-stripe it all and stuff it inside. I think my tube had the latter, because that explains the mixing of colors at the end.
Ah, I'm so happy now.

| I was blowing my nose -- thankfully I'm at the end of two long, ridiculous bouts of the common cold -- and after I thought there was no more mucus left, this
yellowish-white
non-viscous
very watery
liquid
dripped out of my nose. From which little sinus cavity it originated, I know not.
But I do know that it was SO COOL. :D
Like a bloody nose, without the bloody. So cool, I tell you.

| meeting old friends. And seeing how we've all changed, but remained the same.
people watching. The elderly couple strolling hand in hand is just as fascinating as the mother scolding her children for dropping their Popsicles.
seeing humanity played out. Thank goodness I get to live life.
warm blankets and the coziness of reading in bed. Goodnight.

| I like having time to sleep and get up and just pad around the house. Oh.. but four weeks of studying left, and then I get to fly home again.
Mmmm.. life can be sweet, when you have good conversations.
Don't you love it when you understand what someone is saying because you've gone through it yourself?
I've been thinking a lot about being pre-med, and what my life might look like, and how God fits into it all. But too many thoughts to fit here. If you're curious, ask me. :)
Now to cram squirmy bits of fluff into my cranium, before it's too late!
